Personality
Sidra has always struggled to find a balance between her heritage and the modern day. She’s headstrong and stubborn, however with a family to take care of, Sidra has often had to juggle her career with her family. Sidra frequently feels that she fails in regards to her family, though she tries to make it up to them by being as traditional as she can be while with them, including wearing a hijab even ‘on the job’.
Background
Born to Binah and Meydad Abrams, Sidra is the third child of four. She was born in Jerusalem, Israel. The community she was born in was tight knit and retained many ‘old world’ traditions, including religion. With her siblings, Sidra was raised with traditional values and originally attended the community school where she was taught Jewish values and culture in addition to the minimum required ‘worldly’ education by the Federation.
In her teens and after quite a bit of nagging, Sidra began regular schooling and adored space. Despite her parents’ objections and the objections of her betrothed, Yonah, Sidra entered Starfleet at seventeen. It was challenging, but being exceedingly bright, Sidra managed to excel in her training. By the time she graduated she was within the top ten of her class and, unlike many of her graduating class, she was also pregnant and married.
When she was 21 Sidra had her first child, a daughter named Nurya. This was also her first post as Cadet Abrams-Jordan, though she remained planet-side in San Francisco. Within two years Sidra was a Lieutenant Jr. Grade and stationed on the USS Destiny. While on the Destiny she also had another child, their son Malakai in 2369 and made Lieutenant Commander in 2372. In the beginning of 2374 Sidra was transferred to the USS St. Petersburg. Having just had their third child, a daughter named Amalya, Yonah, Nurya, Malakai, and Amalya moved to Earth and to safety while Sidra continued her service. In mid-2375 Sidra was promoted to Commander when the Commander of the USS St. Petersburg was killed during battle. Finally at the end of the war, Sidra had put in for transfer, however after learning that she would not be granted transfer within a number of weeks, her family planned to join her when the USS St. Petersburg returned from a patrol mission of the Federation-Cardassian border. The USS St. Petersburg never showed up and was declared missing in early 2376.
